Regular exercise is not all about losing weight & looking good it has so many other benefits for you.  Regular exercise is necessary for physical fitness & good health.  It reduces the risks of heart disease, cancer, high blood pressure, diabetes & other diseases.
It can improve your appearance & also delay the aging process.  When you exercise your body uses energy to keep going, therefore as your stamina improves your body will become more efficient & can then use less energy for the same amount of work.  Exercise is also a key to weight control because it burns calories.  If you burn off more calories than you can take in, you lose weight…..It’s as simple as that.

Once you begin to exercise regularly, you will discover many more reasons why exercise is so important to improving the quality of your life.  Exercise reduces stress, lifts moods, and helps you sleep better.  It can keep you looking and feeling younger throughout your entire life.

How often should you exercise?

People often assume that more is better. Wrong!  Doing too much too soon or performing intense exercises on a daily basis will have deleterious effects, such as muscle/tendon strains, loss of lean tissue, & fitness-level plateaus.  If you are a beginner, start off slower than you think you should.  3 days per week is realistic.  Whether you prefer the gym or classes then ask your instructor to guide you on where to start. Of course exercise is only a part of healthy living, your diet is a big part too.  So many of us struggle with diets & fads.  The minute we put ourselves on a diet we crave sweet things….Start of by listing your daily food routine & start to slowly replace your sweet or junk cravings with an alternative, (ie fruit).  Make your main meal portions smaller & have a day when you can treat yourself.  Don’t make things forbidden, you’ll only crave them more.  You will slowly start to see a difference after a short period of time & you’ll be able to maintain it easier than if you crash diet.  After all life is for living so making a few changes can improve the way you live yours.
